PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Kazansky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Santh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazansky comes to the cage accompanied by Danger Zone. Tom Kazansky looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Kazansky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruno Santh!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazansky misses with a takedown attempt - Santh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Santh shoots in looking for a takedown. Kazansky tries to sprawl out of it but Santh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kazansky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazansky throws a right and a left that Santh avoids nicely.

Santh fails in his attempt to clinch.
Santh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kazansky paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Santh shoots in looking for a takedown. Kazansky tries to sprawl out of it but Santh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kazansky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Santh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kazansky tries to avoid it but Santh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kazansky to the ground. Kazansky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tom Kazansky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Santh.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santh moves in looking to clinch but Kazansky pushes him off.

and Kazansky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kazansky has picked Santh up - he's going for a ride! Kazansky dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Santh is trying to stand.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kazansky lands a nice short elbow.
Santh is looking for a sweep. Kazansky is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kazansky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Santh wants to control but Kazansky is keeping busy.
Santh pushes Kazansky off looking to stand but Kazansky dives back in and keeps control.
Kazansky has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Kazansky wants to finish this one by submission but Santh is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kazansky.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kazansky avoids the attempt from Santh to control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kazansky landing punches.
Santh is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kazansky lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Santh tries to hold on but Kazansky postures up.
Santh is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Kazansky jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Santh manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Santh wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Santh is looking to get back to his feet here but Kazansky is keeping cool and he's managed to take Santh's back.
Kazansky lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Kazansky is landing with strikes from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santh tries to get to full guard but Kazansky has control of the leg.
Kazansky is nestled in close to Santh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kazansky decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Tom Kazansky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santh clinches but Kazansky breaks the clinch

and Kazansky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Kazansky counters by moving into the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kazansky lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Santh jumps guard but Kazansky stands there with Santh around his waist. Santh gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kazansky's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Santh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kazansky circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Santh has a couple of punches blocked by Kazansky.
Santh goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kazansky prevents it.

Santh wants to get back to striking at distance but Kazansky won't allow it.

Santh is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Kazansky wants to control but Santh is keeping him busy.
Santh takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Kazansky stands up.

Kazansky drives through and clinches with Santh against the cage.
Kazansky wants to get back to striking at distance but Santh won't allow it.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kazansky.
Santh looking to throw knees to the head but Kazansky is blocking nicely.
Kazansky connects with a knee to the head.
Santh prevents Kazansky from breaking the clinch.
Kazansky lands a left hand that snaps the head of Santh backwards.
Kazansky will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Santh up against the cage.
Santh on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Kazansky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kazansky will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Santh tries to clinch up
and Kazansky counters with a stiff right hand.
Kazansky drops his hands momentarily and Santh takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Santh tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Kazansky counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Santh looking for a sweep. Not yet Santh, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Santh is on top in guard.
Santh is looking to stand up but Kazansky won't let him.
Kazansky throws a couple of heel strikes.

Kazansky is looking to sinch up a triangle. Santh throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kazansky's body to avoid the submission. Kazansky has instead reached around Santh's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kazansky arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tom Kazansky!
