Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Brooklyn!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howlett instigates a clinch.
Howlett tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Howlett with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Howlett dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Howlett comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Brooklyn stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Howlett to get to his feet.

Howlett keeps control of Brooklyn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A right hook to the body lands for Brooklyn.
Brooklyn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Howlett.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Howlett closes the distance looking to clinch

and Brooklyn counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Brooklyn.

Brooklyn drops back looking for a leg! Howlett is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Howlett manages to kick Brooklyn off! Brooklyn jumps back into Howlett's guard.

Howlett has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Brooklyn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Brooklyn is breathing heavily.

Howlett tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Brooklyn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Brooklyn trying to control but Howlett is working from the bottom.
Brooklyn content to stall in guard here.
Brooklyn stops Howlett from standing up.
Howlett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brooklyn stands up over Howlett, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Brooklyn passes into half guard.

Brooklyn is looking for a kimura here.
Howlett is trying to stand.

Brooklyn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Howlett keeps working.
Brooklyn stops Howlett from getting back to his feet.
Howlett is staying active underneath Brooklyn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Brooklyn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Howlett doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brooklyn.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howlett makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Howlett gets a clinch.
Howlett lands a knee to the head.

Brooklyn gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Howlett regains guard.
Howlett keeping moving, preventing Brooklyn from controlling successfully.
Howlett is looking to stand up but Brooklyn isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Brooklyn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Howlett pushes Brooklyn off looking to stand but Brooklyn dives back in and keeps control.
Brooklyn content to control rather than advance.
Howlett wants to stand back up but Brooklyn manages to pass into side control.
Howlett is not content to let Brooklyn control the position.
Brooklyn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brooklyn might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Howlett kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Howlett is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Brooklyn asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brooklyn looking to control but instead Howlett has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Brooklyn throwing shots but Howlett is blocking nicely.
Brooklyn is trying to control. Howlett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Brooklyn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brooklyn moves in looking to clinch but Howlett pushes him off.
Brooklyn shoots in for a double leg but Howlett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
James Howlett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Brooklyn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Howlett!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
