Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chicken Destroyer (ranked 2171 p4p, 1606 weight class) and Sampson Shain (ranked 250 p4p, 185 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Destroyer throws a body punch but Shain moves out of range.
Shain throws out a counter right but Destroyer avoids it with no problem.
A big right from Shain misses.
It looked like Destroyer was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Shain.
Destroyer blocks a leg kick.
Shain connects with a single shot there.
Destroyer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shain was well out of range. Poor timing from Destroyer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Destroyer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shain sprawls well initially but Destroyer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Destroyer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Destroyer content to control rather than advance.

Shain tries to get to full guard but Destroyer has control of the leg.
Destroyer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Destroyer prevents Shain from improving his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Destroyer lands a nice short elbow.
Destroyer is trying to control. Shain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Destroyer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Shain has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Destroyer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shain on his heels. He'll look to pass Shain's guard now, I'm sure.

Destroyer postures up in Shain's guard and throws a big left but Shain blocks it.
Destroyer is stalling in the full guard.
Destroyer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Destroyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shain controls Destroyer momentarily but Destroyer frees himself.
Destroyer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Destroyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Shain with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Destroyer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Shain is looking for a sweep. Destroyer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've been hearing good reports from Destroyer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Destroyer wants to take a breather but Shain is having none of it.

Destroyer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Destroyer wants to pass the guard but Shain is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Destroyer tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Destroyer is looking to take a break and control but Shain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Destroyer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shain defends it nicely.

Sampson Shain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
