And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Vorotinski!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza misses with a kick to the body.
Vorotinski scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Vorotinski checks a low kick from Mendoza.
Vorotinski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Vorotinski staying out of range there.
Mendoza scores with a jab to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Vorotinski. That's going to slow Mendoza down.
Vorotinski avoids the head kick by Mendoza.
Good leg kick by Vorotinski.
Vorotinski cracks Mendoza with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Viktor Mendoza has been cut.
A bone on bone clash there as Vorotinski blocks the leg kick.
Mendoza takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mendoza throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vorotinski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Vorotinski.
Vorotinski lands with a nice body kick.
Mendoza rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vorotinski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little jabbing left from Vorotinski on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mendoza throws a head kick that misses
and Mendoza takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vorotinski throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Mendoza throws a sloppy head kick
letting Vorotinski counter with a right hand.
Vorotinski lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Mendoza throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Vorotinski to counter with a crisp jab.
Mendoza is rocked!
Vorotinski finds Mendoza's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Mendoza flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Vorotinski lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Mendoza will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jonathan Vorotinski!
In his post fight interview, Jonathan Vorotinski started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
