Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Maximus (ranked 4545 p4p, 5961 weight class) and Clyde Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Heavy Rain by Solence. Raymond Maximus could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Clyde Waters's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clyde Waters!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.

Maximus misses with a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Waters is defended easily by Maximus.
As Waters looks to move away, Maximus throws a big counter combo but Waters just gets out of the way.
Maximus misses with a two punch combination.
Waters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maximus is fending him off so far but Waters persists. Nope, Maximus circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Maximus or perhaps it was just good defense by Waters, which made it look bad.

Maximus pushes Waters up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Waters is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Maximus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Waters throws a big counter head kick but Maximus avoids it with no problem.

Maximus feints and as Waters raises his hands in defense, Maximus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maximus is looking to work some ground and pound but Waters has wrist control.
Waters keeping moving, preventing Maximus from controlling successfully.
Maximus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Waters wants to get back to his feet but Maximus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Maximus wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.
Waters looking for a sweep. Not yet Waters, not yet.

Waters is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Maximus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Waters is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Maximus is trying to pull guard but Waters turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Maximus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Waters is trying to push Maximus away but Maximus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Maximus is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Waters to keep the fight standing.
Waters has had enough of the clinch but Maximus keeps him there for the moment.
Maximus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Waters smiles and moves away.

Maximus shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Waters manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Waters trying to keep a closed guard but Maximus is proving a slippery customer.
Maximus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Waters looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maximus wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.

Waters looking for a guillotine here but Maximus defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Raymond Maximus will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Waters fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Waters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maximus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Waters closes the distance and clinches up with Maximus, looking for a takedown. Waters pushes Maximus against the cage but Maximus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Maximus throws a quick counter kick to the body but Waters avoids it.

Waters tries to sprawl but Maximus drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Waters looks like he's trying to stand up.

Waters is controlling Maximus's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Maximus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Waters wants to control but Maximus is keeping busy.

Maximus is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Waters on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maximus is stalling here. Waters is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Maximus seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Waters has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

You can see the frustration on Maximus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Maximus tries to hold on but Waters postures up.
Waters throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Maximus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waters on the ground.

Waters throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Maximus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Waters goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Maximus turns into him and now he's in Waters's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maximus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Maximus stopping the sweep attempt from Waters.
Waters is trying to keep Maximus in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Waters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maximus manages to get himself to full guard.

Maximus tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Clyde Waters will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Waters shoots in looking for a takedown. Maximus tries to sprawl out of it but Waters keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maximus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maximus is looking for a counter combo.
Maximus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Waters swivels and escapes.
Waters stuffs the takedown.
Waters shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maximus displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Waters dives in for a single leg takedown but Maximus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Waters working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maximus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maximus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maximus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Waters swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Waters has Maximus pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maximus wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Waters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maximus is fending him off so far but Waters persists. Nope, Maximus circles away and we're back to standing.
Waters looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Waters fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Maximus.
Waters shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maximus sprawls well. Maximus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Waters gets slowly back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Waters shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maximus pinned against the cage. Maximus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Waters takes a kick to the side of the head.
Waters circles away from the clinch attempt.
Waters leaves Maximus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maximus looks to land a body kick but Waters moved away.
Waters changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Waters fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maximus avoids it really well and circles away.

Maximus scores with a takedown into Waters's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Waters is on top in guard.

Waters wants to control from the top but Maximus keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maximus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


And that's the end of the fight!
Raymond Maximus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Maximus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Raymond Maximus decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
