Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tadashi Ono (ranked 5616 p4p, 3652 weight class) and Oleksandr Nakonechniy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tadashi Ono has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tadashi Ono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleksandr Nakonechniy!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.

Nakonechniy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Nakonechniy rushes Ono and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nakonechniy is looking to take this one to the mat.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ono fails to pull guard.
Ono is pressed up against the cage. Nakonechniy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ono down to the mat. Ono avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nakonechniy misses with a takedown attempt - Ono sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ono was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Ono jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nakonechniy walks away with a smile on his face. Ono gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Nakonechniy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ono tries to avoid it but Nakonechniy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ono to the ground. Ono escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ono moves into range and clinches up with Nakonechniy.
Ono is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nakonechniy to keep the fight standing.

Ono tries for a takedown but Nakonechniy manages to get underhooks.

Ono keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ono shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nakonechniy pinned against the cage. Nakonechniy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nakonechniy now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Nakonechniy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ono sprawls well. Ono wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nakonechniy gets slowly back to his feet.

Nakonechniy is trying to drag Ono to the mat but Ono just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That was a close round but I would say that Tadashi Ono will probably get the nod.

Nakonechniy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ono manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nakonechniy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ono looking for a guillotine here but Nakonechniy defends easily.
Nakonechniy wants to control from the top but Ono keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ono working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nakonechniy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nakonechniy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ono has his foot on Nakonechniy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakonechniy works his way back into a safe position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ono, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
