Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Caio Peieira!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peieira throws a low kick but it's checked well by Morrison.
Peieira throws a sloppy head kick
and Morrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like Caio Peieira has been cut.
Morrison avoids the head kick by Peieira.
Nice uppercut lands for Morrison. That snapped Peieira's head back.
Peieira closes the distance looking to clinch
and Morrison counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Peieira thinking.
Peieira misses with a wild body shot.
Peieira checks a low kick from Morrison.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peieira.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peieira pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Morrison appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Peieira fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Morrison wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
A shot to the body from Peieira misses
and Morrison counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck for Peieira with that takedown attempt.
Morrison throws a right hand that Peieira ducks under and follows up with a left that Peieira also avoids with ease.
Morrison scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Peieira is rocked!
Morrison throws a quick inside leg kick.
Peieira is still on wobbly legs! Can Morrison finish him?
Peieira ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Morrison moves away.
Nice defenses there by Morrison.
Morrison throws a big counter combination but Peieira scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Peieira seems to have recovered his senses.
Morrison lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Peieira gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Morrison points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Peieira wakes up just in time to hear Morrison thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Richard Morrison!
