Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lando Lager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Culver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lager has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Culver scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Culver in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Lager is breathing heavily.
Culver in side control lands a decent elbow.
Culver wants to control but Lager is keeping him busy.
Lager tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Lager gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Culver not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lager is looking for a sweep. Culver is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Culver seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Culver takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lager keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Culver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lager swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Culver feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Culver drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Culver jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lager is on top in guard.

Lager stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Culver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Culver trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lager stuffs the takedown.
Jens Culver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lager looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Culver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lager can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Culver is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Lager locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Culver is forced to tap!
