Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Chandler (ranked 3847 p4p, 4080 weight class) and Shigatsu Miyamoto (ranked 362 p4p, 379 weight class). Miyamoto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 82.99 FM kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nicholas Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shigatsu Miyamoto!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyamoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Miyamoto will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chandler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Miyamoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chandler moves into the clinch successfully.
Chandler jumps into guard, dragging Miyamoto to the mat.
Miyamoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chandler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chandler is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Miyamoto is aware though and is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chandler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miyamoto is controlling him.

Chandler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miyamoto manages to get himself to full guard.
Chandler is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Chandler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miyamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chandler has managed to get both his arms back between Miyamoto's legs - danger averted.

Miyamoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Miyamoto is trying to control the position but Chandler postures up.
Miyamoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chandler's guard.

Miyamoto is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Miyamoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Miyamoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chandler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Chandler wants to get back to his feet but Miyamoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chandler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Miyamoto looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miyamoto wants to sweep but no luck.
We've been informed that Miyamoto has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Chandler is posturing up here but Miyamoto has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Chandler tries to roll out but it's too tight and Chandler has to tap! Slick submission there by Miyamoto!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shigatsu Miyamoto!
Shigatsu Miyamoto decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
