PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thrawn Palpatine (ranked 24349 p4p, 24372 weight class) and Merowech Van Dhalism (ranked 652 p4p, 693 weight class). Palpatine comes to the cage accompanied by The Imperial March. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thrawn Palpatine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Merowech Van Dhalism!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palpatine takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Van Dhalism connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Van Dhalism throws a hook to the side of Palpatine's head but Palpatine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Palpatine gets a clinch.
Van Dhalism tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Palpatine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Palpatine looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Van Dhalism goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Van Dhalism throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Van Dhalism fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Palpatine takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Palpatine shoots in but no luck this time.
Van Dhalism tries to land a leg kick but Palpatine saw it coming and moves away.
No luck for Palpatine with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thrawn Palpatine. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Palpatine gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Van Dhalism.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palpatine closes the distance and clinches up with Van Dhalism, looking for a takedown. Palpatine pushes Van Dhalism against the cage but Van Dhalism circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Van Dhalism lands a big head kick that sends Palpatine to the canvas! Van Dhalism follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Merowech Van Dhalism!
