Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, YB Sol Brotha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philo Beddo Ii! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sol Brotha scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sol Brotha looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sol Brotha working the head with strikes. An elbow from Sol Brotha crashes against the mat.
Sol Brotha tries to advance to mount but Beddo Ii denies him. Beddo Ii is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sol Brotha is controlling him well. Beddo Ii really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sol Brotha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sol Brotha throws a strike aimed at the side of Beddo Ii's head but Beddo Ii avoids it well. Beddo Ii is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Sol Brotha looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Beddo Ii is avoiding damage well.
Beddo Ii is trying to buck Sol Brotha off. Beddo Ii told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Sol Brotha has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sol Brotha trying to control the position but Beddo Ii is working away. Beddo Ii is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sol Brotha has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sol Brotha trying to control the position but Beddo Ii is working away. Beddo Ii is pushing Sol Brotha's head away, looking to escape. Sol Brotha manages to hold on to the position though. Sol Brotha looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sol Brotha has an Americana. Beddo Ii didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sol Brotha is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sol Brotha hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
