Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Markus Kjila (ranked 4494 p4p, 4917 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 521 p4p, 504 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Markus Kjila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.

Kjila pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hughes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Markus Kjila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kjila throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hughes lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hughes avoids the head kick by Kjila.
Hughes throws a counter combo.
Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hughes tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Kjila's face as Hughes controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Kjila is looking for a sweep.

Hughes controls the position from side control.

Hughes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kjila knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hughes lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kjila down.

Kjila is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Hughes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kjila has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kjila gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kjila wants to get back to his feet.
Hughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kjila sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes is nestled in close to Kjila, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kjila is looking to control Hughes's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kjila avoid being mounted?

Hughes is trying for a kimura here. Kjila looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Hughes wins by kimura!
