Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Platinum Fox (ranked 637 p4p, 1212 weight class) and Sergey Telegin (ranked 83 p4p, 141 weight class). Fox comes to the cage accompanied by For Heavy Metal we will die!. Platinum Fox has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Telegin!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox misses the body punch
and Telegin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fox just misses with a punch to the body.
Telegin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Sergey Telegin has been cut.
Telegin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fox misses with a jab, cross combination.

Telegin drives through with a takedown into Fox's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fox keeping moving, preventing Telegin from controlling successfully.

Fox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Telegin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Telegin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fox is trying to get back to full guard.

Telegin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fox defends it well.
Fox moves into full guard.
Telegin postures up and lands a big shot to Fox's brow.
Telegin trying to control the position from guard on top but Fox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Telegin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Telegin is in close to Fox's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Fox looking for a guillotine here but Telegin defends easily.
Fox is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Telegin wants to control from the top but Fox keeps moving.
Telegin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Telegin works over Fox with some ground and pound from guard.
Telegin is working Fox over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Telegin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Telegin passes Fox's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Telegin seems to be looking for submissions.

Telegin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Fox sees it coming and defends easily.
Telegin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Fox moves into full guard.
Telegin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fox's guard.
Telegin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Telegin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fox trying to control from the bottom.
Fox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Telegin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Fox is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Heavy Metal, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Telegin wants to free his trapped foot but Fox is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Fox is refusing to be controlled, as Telegin sits in half guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Telegin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Telegin or perhaps it was just good defense by Fox, which made it look bad.
Telegin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Telegin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fox staying out of range there.
Telegin works the jab nicely.
Telegin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Good exchange - Fox coming out on top.
Telegin misses with an uppercut
and Fox counters with a nice uppercut.
Telegin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fox defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Fox throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fox throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Telegin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Telegin looks to throw the jab but Fox is out of range.
Telegin avoids the body shot from Fox.

Telegin misses with a straight left.
Fox moves away from the strike by Telegin.
Fox misses with an uppercut. Telegin saw that one coming.
Telegin throws the left hand but Fox avoids the punch easily.
Fox rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Telegin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Platinum Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox slips a jab from Telegin.
The crowd cheers as Telegin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fox doesn't seem phased though.
Fox throws a left and a right that both miss

and Telegin counters with a shoot takedown. Fox fights it but they end up in guard.
Fox is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Telegin moves into full guard.

Telegin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fox passes into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Telegin is looking for a sweep.

Fox wants to control but Telegin is keeping him busy.
Telegin can't do much from the bottom here.
Telegin is trying to get back to half guard.
Telegin wants to control but Fox postures up.
Telegin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Telegin. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Fox trying to control from half guard but Telegin is working away.

Fox is looking for a kimura but Telegin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fox to get the leverage.
Fox is stalling here. Telegin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fox seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Telegin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Telegin is looking to take a break and control but Fox is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Telegin is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fox looks calm but he's in trouble here. Telegin gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fox is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Telegin lets go of the hold and Fox can pop his arm back in it's socket.
