Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaoru Nagashima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yellow Belt Casey!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagashima tries to close the distance and clinch up but Casey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Yellow Belt Casey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nagashima steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Casey. That one must have hurt.
Nagashima drives through and clinches with Casey against the cage.
Nagashima fails to pull guard.
Nagashima has hold of one of Casey's legs. Casey is fighting the takedown attempt but Nagashima gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Nagashima decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Nagashima closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Casey has one foot on Nagashima's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Casey lands a glancing blow to the side of Nagashima's head.
Casey digs a good hook to Nagashima's body.
Nagashima with a poor takedown
and Nagashima takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Casey tries to bum rush Nagashima with a series of wild strikes but Nagashima uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
An attempted straight right counter from Nagashima misses the target.
Nagashima forces Casey back against the cage and clinches.
Nagashima has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Casey after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaoru Nagashima. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nagashima is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Casey to keep the fight standing.
Nagashima lands a takedown into guard.
Casey is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Nagashima frees his head nicely. Oh but Casey has switched to an armbar! Nagashima is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
