The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Kanaani.
Nogueira Aldo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kanaani. Kanaani obviously looking to wear him down.
Kanaani punishes Nogueira Aldo's body with a nice straight punch.
Kanaani lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kanaani lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kanaani moves into range and clinches up with Nogueira Aldo.

Kanaani digs a good body shot into Nogueira Aldo's ribs.
Kanaani feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nogueira Aldos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mehdi Kanaani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kanaani works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Nogueira Aldo is breathing heavily.

Kanaani pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nogueira Aldo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kanaani connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nogueira Aldo scrambles back to his feet.

Kanaani closes the distance and pushes Nogueira Aldo back into the cage.

Kanaani cracks Nogueira Aldo with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nogueira Aldo tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kanaani pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nogueira Aldo is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

After winning the bout, Mehdi Kanaani thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
