Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Riley (ranked 4467 p4p, 4648 weight class) and Saka Maka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saka Maka!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Chris Dean and Skip Squint.

Riley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Riley fails to land the takedown.
Riley looks to land a combination. Maka sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Maka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Riley sprawls well. Riley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maka gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Riley gets caught napping as Maka dives in and scores a takedown. Riley manages to retain guard.

Maka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Riley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maka has managed to get both his arms back between Riley's legs - danger averted.

Maka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Riley seems keen to control Maka's posture.
Riley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Riley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Riley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Maka is working an open guard so Riley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Riley lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Riley closes the distance and pushes Maka back into the cage.
Maka has Riley pressed against the cage, preventing Riley from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Maka is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Riley is defending well for now.
Riley has Maka pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Maka manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Riley wants to take the fight to the mat but Maka manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Riley tries to circle away but Maka has him pinned against the cage.
Riley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Riley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Maka throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Riley blocks it with crossed arms.
Riley wants a takedown but no success here.
Riley tries to break the clinch but Maka is controlling the position.

Maka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maka slaps away a takedown attempt from Riley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Maka wants to clinch up but Riley keeps it at a distance.
As Maka looks to move away, Riley throws a big counter combo but Maka just gets out of the way.
Riley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Maka misses.
Maka ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Maka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Riley tries to avoid it but Maka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Riley to the ground. Riley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Maka fails with a takedown attempt.
As Maka tries to get set, Riley tries to push him back and clinch up but Maka manages to avoid the attempt.
Saka Maka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Riley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maka, pushing him back against the cage.

Riley drags the fight down to the ground.
Maka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Riley has his foot on Maka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maka works his way back into a safe position though.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maka's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Maka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Riley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maka manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maka wants to hit a sweep here but Riley passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Maka there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Riley dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Riley moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Maka scores with a jab to the body.
Riley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maka avoids it really well and circles away.
Riley works Maka's body with a nice hook.

Riley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maka can do to turn this around?
Maka shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Riley but Riley pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Maka shoots for a double leg takedown but Riley sprawls well. He's pushed Maka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rick Riley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saka Maka.
Maka misses with a straight right.
Maka swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maka seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Riley shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Maka is backing up but Riley catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Maka covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Riley Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rick Riley!
