Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maito Kaishi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierre comes to the cage accompanied by Indestructable by Disturbed. Kaishi has chosen Monkey Man as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Pierre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maito Kaishi! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre shoots in for a double leg but Kaishi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kaishi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kaishi looking to pass the guard. Kaishi advances to half guard. Kaishi seems to be looking for submissions.
Pierre wants to improve his position but Kaishi is controlling well.
Pierre could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pierre wants to control but Kaishi is keeping busy.
Kaishi is trying to control the action in half guard but Pierre is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaishi seems to be working for a kimura but Pierre defends the submission attempt. Kaishi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pierre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pierre trying to control here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kaishi tries to close the distance and clinch but Pierre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pierre closes the distance and pushes Kaishi back into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pierre misses with a knee to the head. Pierre gets control of Kaishi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierre will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kaishi wants to control from the top but Pierre keeps moving. Kaishi looking to pass the guard. Kaishi pushing down on Pierre's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pierre wants to improve his position but Kaishi is controlling well.
Kaishi is working for an americana but Pierre has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Kaishi was thinking about the submission. Kaishi looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre controlling the position. Pierre is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kaishi preventing the sweep. Pierre controlling the position. Kaishi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pierre pulls Kaishi in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kaishi has gone for a leg lock! Pierre slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kaishi's guard. Kaishi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kaishi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pierre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pierre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierre controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Maito Kaishi will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pierre gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kaishi fails to pull guard.
Kaishi is trying to maintain a safe position but Pierre gets an underhook and turns Kaishi into the cage. Pierre tries to pull guard but Kaishi won't allow it.
Pierre prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pierre looking for a takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaishi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Pierre can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pierre wants a takedown.
Kaishi is breathing heavily. Pierre pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre goes for a takedown attempt but Kaishi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kaishi closes the distance looking to clinch and Pierre counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Pierre. Pierre gets control of Kaishi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierre will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Pierre pulls Kaishi in close to prevent any damage. Pierre is looking for a triangle here but Kaishi uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaishi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pierre sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Pierre is looking to reverse the position. Kaishi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pierre has escaped the position, nice work there. Kaishi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pierre tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kaishi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaishi working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pierre has managed to clinch.
Kaishi fails to pull guard.
Pierre drags the fight down to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pierre controlling the position. Pierre controls Kaishi momentarily but Kaishi frees himself. Kaishi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pierre is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kaishi, into his guard. Pierre wants to control from the top but Kaishi keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pierre's corner is telling him to maintain position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Pierre dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kaishi is trying to drag Pierre to the mat but Pierre just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pierre decides to pull guard. Pierre keeping full guard, as Kaishi tries to pass. Pierre wants to sweep here but Kaishi controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaishi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierre is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kaishi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Kaishi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pierre trying to control from the bottom.
Kaishi trying to control from Pierre's half guard. Pierre has other ideas though and has regained full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pierre holds on and takes a little breather. Pierre lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kaishi!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pierre is landing with some decent strikes but Kaishi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Kaishi is trying to reverse the position but instead Pierre has taken his back - oops! Pierre lands shots from the back. Pierre really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kaishi.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Kaishi! Can he survive? No! He's out! Pierre gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Matt Pierre!
