The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Republic!
Nolan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Republic's coach down at FF Forever was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Republic's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Banana Republic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Republic misses the jab. Nolan lands a left and a right that send Republic crashing to the mat, dazed. Nolan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Republic is rocked!
It looks like Banana Republic has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Republic misses with a body punch
and Nolan rattles Republic with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Republic tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Nolan dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Republic stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jon Nolan!
