CACC 144: Ward vs Morrison II PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 36 wins and 19 losses; David Morrison! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 18 losses; Mr Ward! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? No luck with that takedown attempt from Ward. Morrison throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ward was covering up waiting for the punch and Morrison finishes the takedown easily into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Morrison (2) vs (0) Ward We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Morrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. Morrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Morrison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control.
