Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Issac Vernon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal Adams!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams misses the jab.
Vernon throwing a counter right hand but Adams manages to avoid it.
Adams gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Vernon.
Vernon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Adams momentarily.
Adams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Good shot there by Vernon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vernon sprawls well. Vernon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adams gets slowly back to his feet.
Adams takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Issac Vernon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Adams showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vernon.
Adams looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
We've been told by Vernon's head coaches at Outlier Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vernon ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Adams has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Vernon.
Adams goes for a double leg but Vernon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vernon continues to drive forward.
Issac Vernon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jamal Adams.
Adams tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vernon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Adams somewhat.

Adams connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Vernon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Vernon pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Adams back to the cage. Vernon follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vernon stuffs the takedown attempt from Adams. Adams gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Vernon misses the target.
Adams misses with a hook to the body
and Vernon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Vernon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Adams has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Vernon clinches with his opponent.
Vernon content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Vernon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Vernon misses with a hook from the clinch.

Vernon avoiding damage.
Vernon is looking to break free of the clinch but Adams has double underhooks.
Vernon doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Adams tightens his grip and picks Vernon up, before dumping him to the ground. Vernon manages to land in guard.
Adams stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Vernon throws up his legs and catches Adams in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Adams tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Vernon! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Issac Vernon!
