Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Coyle (ranked 4243 p4p, 24210 weight class) and Mariusz Pudzianowski (ranked 429 p4p, 577 weight class). Mariusz Pudzianowski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Coyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mariusz Pudzianowski! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pudzianowski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coyle moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Coyle throws a series of punches but Pudzianowski moves out of range. Pudzianowski throws a counter combo. Coyle takes a shot right to the bread basket. Pudzianowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pudzianowski moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Chris Coyle has been cut. Pudzianowski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Coyle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pudzianowski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Coyle controls the pace. Coyle gets to his feet. Pudzianowski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pudzianowski misses with the combination.

Coyle closes the distance and clinches. Pudzianowski is trying to push Coyle away but Coyle has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Coyle jumps into guard, dragging Pudzianowski to the mat.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pudzianowski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pudzianowski wants to stand but Coyle is controlling his posture from full guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Pudzianowski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pudzianowski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Coyle is pulling down on Pudzianowski's head. It's preventing any offense from Pudzianowski, at least for the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pudzianowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Coyle lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Coyle is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pudzianowski wants to get back to his feet but Coyle passes into half guard.
Pudzianowski is looking to escape. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Coyle in particular looking to stall. Coyle escapes and gets back to his feet. Pudzianowski throws a series of punches but Coyle moves out of range. Coyle looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Pudzianowski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pudzianowski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Coyle looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Excellent takedown into side control there by Coyle. Pudzianowski is working to avoid the ground and pound but Coyle connects with a decent elbow. Coyle takes a little break here. Pudzianowski wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Pudzianowski is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pudzianowski pushes Coyle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Coyle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coyle is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pudzianowski's shoulder. That is not cool. Coyle tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pudzianowski is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Coyle lands some shots froms side control. Pudzianowski is pushing Coyle's head away, looking to escape. Coyle manages to hold on to the position though. Coyle has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. This has been an exciting period of action! Pudzianowski lands a glancing blow to the side of Coyle's head. Pudzianowski cracks a nice hook into Coyle's ribs. Pudzianowski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Coyle wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Pudzianowski swings for the body but Coyle moves out of range.
Pudzianowski throws a right and a left that both miss. Coyle has closed the distance and engaged Pudzianowski in a clinch.
Pudzianowski is trying to force a seperation but Coyle has the dominant position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mariusz Pudzianowski will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Coyle's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The fighters circling - Pudzianowski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Coyle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pudzianowski was covering up waiting for the punch and Coyle finishes the takedown easily into guard. Pudzianowski is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Coyle dives into side control.
Pudzianowski trying to remain calm as Coyle controls from the top position. Pudzianowski is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Coyle is controlling him well. You can see the frustration on Pudzianowski's face as Coyle controls the position. Chris Coyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pudzianowski wants to get back to his feet but Coyle is dominant here and he's now got Pudzianowski's back! I would not like to be Pudzianowski right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coyle lands a shot to the body.

Coyle is looking to finish with some ground and pound! You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Pudzianowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Coyle pulls Pudzianowski in to control the position. Pudzianowski wants to get up but he can't break Coyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Coyle pulls Pudzianowski in close to prevent any damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pudzianowski wants to stand but Coyle has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pudzianowski tries to bum rush Coyle with a series of wild strikes but Coyle uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pudzianowski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Coyle circles away quickly and effectively. Coyle moves into range and clinches up with Pudzianowski. Coyle stalls. Pudzianowski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Coyle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Coyle won't allow Pudzianowski to get back to his feet. Coyle works a leg free and moves into half guard. Coyle sitting and controlling from the half guard. Pudzianowski is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coyle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Pudzianowski wants to stand back up but Coyle manages to pass into side control.

Coyle manages to hold on to the position though. Coyle advances to mount. Coyle gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Coyle looking to score a takedown here. Pudzianowski is defending well but Coyle drives through and ends up in Pudzianowski's guard. Pudzianowski wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Coyle manages to pass to side control. Pudzianowski is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coyle frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pudzianowski for as long as he can get away with. Coyle won't allow Pudzianowski to sweep him here. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Pudzianowski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Coyle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pudzianowski's half guard. Coyle content to control rather than advance. Coyle continues to stall.

Coyle is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Pudzianowski with him. Pudzianowski is trying to defend but Coyle has an arm under the chin now! Pudzianowski grimaces and is forced to tap out!
