Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Todd Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Blacksmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw comes into the arena with Who Need a B blaring out of the sound system. Todd Shaw could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Adam Blacksmith's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Shaw. No joy for Blacksmith on that attempt. Shaw lands a jab to the nose. Blacksmith dodges the punch combination from Shaw.
Shaw fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Blacksmith is out of range. Shaw misses with a straight right. Shaw pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shaw stuffs the takedown. Shaw throws a leg kick but Blacksmith moved away. Blacksmith clinches. Blacksmith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shaw just stands there and leans against the cage. Todd Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Blacksmith. Shaw wants to break free but Blacksmith has control.
Blacksmith turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blacksmith manages to end up in side control. Shaw is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Blacksmith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blacksmith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Blacksmith controls the position. Blacksmith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shaw is trying to control Blacksmith's posture but Blacksmith avoids it. Blacksmith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Blacksmith in side control, throwing shots but Shaw defends. Shaw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shaw tries to get out of the position. Blacksmith trying to control the action but Shaw is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Blacksmith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Blacksmith looks gassed! Blacksmith trying to control the position but Shaw is working away. Shaw can't do much from the bottom here. Shaw tries to escape but Blacksmith is in control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shaw clinches but Blacksmith breaks the clinch and Blacksmith counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Blacksmith. Blacksmith can't get the takedown.
Shaw lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blacksmith backwards. Blacksmith jumps guard.
Shaw is stalling in the full guard. Shaw stopping the sweep attempt from Blacksmith. Shaw wanted to stand there but Blacksmith had control of the position. Blacksmith wants to sweep here but Shaw controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Blacksmith trying to control the position.
Blacksmith tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blacksmith looking to control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shaw clinches but Blacksmith breaks the clinch and Blacksmith counters with a body kick that stops Shaw in his tracks momentarily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blacksmith dodges the punch combination from Shaw.
Shaw misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice defenses there by Blacksmith. Shaw tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Blacksmith dominated that round. That's time! Shaw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Shaw fails in his attempt to clinch. Good leg kick by Shaw there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Shaw tries to clinch up. Blacksmith slips a jab and a cross from Shaw.
Nice takedown defense from Shaw. No joy for Blacksmith on that attempt. Shaw throws a body punch but Blacksmith moves out of range. Shaw misses with a looping left. Shaw jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shaw clinches but Blacksmith breaks the clinch and Blacksmith counters with a two punch combo. Blacksmith has a takedown stuffed. Shaw misses with a lunging right hand
and Blacksmith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Shaw is refusing to be controlled, as Blacksmith sits in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blacksmith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Blacksmith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shaw!
That's one minute gone in the round. Blacksmith looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Blacksmith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Blacksmith trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blacksmith is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Blacksmith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shaw looks a forlorn figure.
Blacksmith trying to control but Shaw is having none of it. Blacksmith controlling from mount. Shaw takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Shaw is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blacksmith pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Shaw is in all sorts of trouble here.
Blacksmith trying to control but Shaw is having none of it. Blacksmith looking to finish Shaw with some ground and pound. This is bad for Shaw! Blacksmith landing strikes from the mount and Shaw is in trouble! Oh Shaw is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Blacksmith raining down shots from the mount! Blacksmith landing strikes from the mount and Shaw is in trouble!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Blacksmith.
Blacksmith looking to control but Shaw is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blacksmith looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Shaw seems to have got his legs back now. Shaw really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shaw wants to control but Blacksmith is having none of it. Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Blacksmith on the ground. Shaw is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Blacksmith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Shaw darts in trying to clinch and Blacksmith counters with a thumping low kick. Shaw moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A combination from Shaw does no damage. Shaw throws a leg kick that is checked and Blacksmith holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Shaw is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Blacksmith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shaw wants to break free but Blacksmith has control.

Todd Shaw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Blacksmith. Blacksmith jumps into guard, dragging Shaw to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaw trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blacksmith's guard. Blacksmith trying to strike off his back.
Blacksmith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shaw is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Blacksmith looking for a sweep. Not yet Blacksmith, not yet. Blacksmith trying to strike off his back.
Shaw would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Blacksmith has his hands on Shaw's head, controlling the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shaw. Shaw misses with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Horrible takedown by Blacksmith or perhaps it was just good defense by Shaw which made him look bad. Blacksmith shoots in and drives through. Shaw sprawls well. Shaw connects with a solid leg kick. Shaw rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Blacksmith counters with a single leg into guard. Shaw didn't expect that. Blacksmith showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Blacksmith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Blacksmith stands up from Shaw's guard - Blacksmith perhaps looking for a knockout. Shaw throws a poor cross that misses
and Blacksmith counters with a three punch combo that has Shaw backing up. Shaw nods at Blacksmith to acknowledge the strikes. Todd Shaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Excellent takedown into side control there by Blacksmith. Shaw wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blacksmith working away. Shaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Blacksmith tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Todd Shaw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! You can see the frustration on Shaw's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Shaw is not content to let Blacksmith control the position. Adam Blacksmith has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blacksmith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blacksmith trying to control the position but Shaw is working away. Blacksmith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shaw knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Blacksmith misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Shaw gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Blacksmith wants to finish this one by submission but Shaw is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Blacksmith. Blacksmith landing shots from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Adam Blacksmith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Blacksmith winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
