Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Irwin (ranked 3083 p4p, 3167 weight class) and Brian Ortega (ranked 109 p4p, 114 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ethan Irwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortega lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Irwin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ortega scores with a shot to the body.
Ortega comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Ortega finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
We've been informed that Ortega has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Irwin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Ortega lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Ortega closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Irwin to the mat! Irwin manages to get full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ortega is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Irwin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ortega.
Ortega has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ortega frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ortega lands a leg kick that knocks Irwin off balance momentarily.
Ortega goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Irwin tries to land a leg kick but Ortega saw it coming and moves away.
Ortega lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ortega.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ortega is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Irwin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ortega works to advance to full mount. Irwin defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Irwin tries to lock up and control but Ortega gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ortega has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Irwin! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ortega gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Brian Ortega!
A very excited looking Brian Ortega made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
