Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Hide (ranked 3956 p4p, 5514 weight class) and Joseph Telushikin (ranked 139 p4p, 177 weight class). Hide comes to the cage accompanied by Nightwish. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Hide! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Telushikin! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Telushikin shoots in for a double leg but Hide sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Telushikin misses with a few strikes there.
Hide throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Hide misses the target. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Telushikin. Telushikin shoots in for a double leg but Hide sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Raphael Hide has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Telushikin. Telushikin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Telushikin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hide is trying to get back to half guard. Hide is not content to let Telushikin control the position. Telushikin landing a few strikes. Telushikin wants to control but Hide is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hide tries to improve position but can't. Hide is trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Telushikin tries to advance to mount but can't. Telushikin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hide managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Telushikin.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Telushikin controlling from side mount. Telushikin works to advance to full mount. Hide defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Telushikin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hide to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hide shrugs it off. Telushikin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Hide wants to hold on but Telushikin pushes him away. Telushikin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hide hang on? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hide sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Hide is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Telushikin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hide is just riding it out for now. Telushikin eventually gives up the hold. Hide has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Telushikin is working away from the top position though. Telushikin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hide has managed to free his arm - good work. Hide looking for submissions off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hide wants to get back to full guard. Telushikin seems to be looking for submissions.

Telushikin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hide keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are battling for position here. Hide manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Telushikin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hide swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joseph Telushikin dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Hide steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Telushikin. Hide was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Telushikin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hide tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Telushikin is in Hide's guard. Telushikin pushing down on Hide's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Telushikin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Telushikin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hide does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Telushikin is looking for a kimura but Hide is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Telushikin to get the leverage. Telushikin is keen to just control but Hide is a slippery customer. Hide is trying to get back to full guard. Telushikin wants to pass the guard but Hide is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Telushikin moves nicely into side control. Telushikin throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hide is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Telushikin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Telushikin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Hide tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Telushikin presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Telushikin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hide has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Telushikin has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Telushikin controlling the position easily from mount. Telushikin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hide manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hide is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Telushikin has hold of Hide's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hide seems comfortable defending it but Telushikin has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hide is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hide is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Telushikin couldn't care less - he's delighted!
