Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David De Carlo (ranked 5324 p4p, 24854 weight class) and Jat Upp (ranked 175 p4p, 221 weight class). De Carlo comes to the cage accompanied by To Be Alone With You. Jat Upp will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David De Carlo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jat Upp! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Upp throws a sloppy head kick and De Carlo moves out of range easily. De Carlo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Well, if De Carlo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
De Carlo sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Upp defending well though. Upp is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still in half guard, De Carlo seems content to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Upp looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and De Carlo pushes past his half guard into mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Upp wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by De Carlo.
De Carlo throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. De Carlo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. De Carlo wants to finish this one by submission but Upp is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from De Carlo. Upp is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Upp blocking the ground and pound. Upp wants to hold on but De Carlo pushes him away. Upp can't escape the position.
De Carlo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Upp in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. De Carlo controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Upp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Carlo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. De Carlo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Upp for as long as he can get away with. De Carlo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. De Carlo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. De Carlo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Upp has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. De Carlo is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Upp is in real trouble.
Upp trying to control the hands but De Carlo breaks the grip. Good control from De Carlo. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! De Carlo missing with strikes from the back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
David De Carlo dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
De Carlo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Upp napping and manages to drive through into side control! Upp tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. De Carlo working for a choke but Upp is defending well. Upp is trying to stand back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. I would not like to be Upp right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Upp trying to get back to his feet but De Carlo is in full control for now. De Carlo controlling from the back. David De Carlo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. De Carlo thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Upp wants to get back to his feet. Upp wants to control his opponent's hands but De Carlo gets his hands free. De Carlo trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Upp doesn't escape. Upp fending off the submission attempt from De Carlo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Carlo is looking for the choke from the back position but Upp is controlling his hands well. De Carlo is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Upp is in bad spot here.
De Carlo slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
De Carlo working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. De Carlo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Upp can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Upp is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
De Carlo punches the canvas rather than the man. De Carlo thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. I really don't envy Upp right now.
De Carlo working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. De Carlo biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Carlo patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Upp has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from De Carlo. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. De Carlo is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Upp knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Upp for a finish. De Carlo misses with a punch to the head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
David De Carlo dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Upp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but De Carlo paws at him with a jab and circles away. De Carlo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. De Carlo drives through with a takedown into Upp's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Upp avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. De Carlo tries to free his leg and advance position but Upp is retaining full guard. De Carlo preventing the sweep. De Carlo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. De Carlo passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Carlo is staying tight to Upp's torso, preventing him from escaping. De Carlo is looking to take a break and control but Upp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Carlo landing strikes. De Carlo happy to just control the position for now. Upp is trying to get back to half guard. De Carlo cracks Upp with a big right hand but Upp just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Upp trying to remain calm as De Carlo controls from the top position. De Carlo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Upp, who protects the arm well. De Carlo misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Upp is looking for a sweep. A lull in the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Carlo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. De Carlo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. De Carlo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no De Carlo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! De Carlo in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Carlo tries for a kimura but Upp is defending well. De Carlo misses with an attempted head punch from side control. De Carlo advances to full mount. De Carlo thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. De Carlo looking to finish Upp with some ground and pound. This is bad for Upp! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! De Carlo controlling his opponent. De Carlo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! David De Carlo showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Carlo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
