Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stan Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like Stan Shamrock has been cut.
Mongrel tests Shamrock's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shamrock has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mongrel jabs at Shamrock's body.
Shamrock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shamrock! But no joy.
Mongrel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shamrock circles away quickly and effectively.
Jab, jab by Mongrel - just one landing.
Mongrel moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mongrel jabs Shamrock to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Shamrock swings for the body but Mongrel moves out of range.
Mongrel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shamrock at a distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shamrock throws a right and a left that both miss.
A telegraphed right hand from Shamrock misses the target.
Mongrel slips a jab from Shamrock.
Shamrock swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mongrel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Mongrel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shamrock.

Stan Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shamrock misses with a jab, cross combination.

Shamrock throws a lazy right hand but Mongrel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mongrel walks into a left hand.

Oooooh!!! Mongrel has knocked Shamrock down with a huge combo! Mongrel steps away and waves a wobbly Shamrock back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

That has opened up Stan Shamrock's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shamrock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mongrel counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Shamrock is rocked!
Shamrock punishes Mongrel's body with a nice straight punch.
We've been told by Mongrel's head coaches at Private Training Facility that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Mongrel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shamrock sprawling to the canvas! Shamrock rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mongrel finish him?!
Shamrock is still on wobbly legs! Can Mongrel finish him?
Shamrock tries to get into range but Mongrel steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Shamrock! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Mongrel scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Mongrel!
After winning the bout, John Mongrel thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
