Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jax Thomas (ranked 3766 p4p, 5997 weight class) and Jesus Sanchez (ranked 469 p4p, 610 weight class). Sanchez has chosen Duele El Carazon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sanchez gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sanchez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sanchez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomas circles away quickly and effectively.

Sanchez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side.
Thomas looks to throw the jab but Sanchez is out of range.

Sanchez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sanchez is in Thomas's guard.

Sanchez moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That has opened up Jesus Sanchez's cut even more.

Thomas cracks Sanchez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Thomas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sanchez to stand back up!
Thomas scores with a jab. Sanchez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sanchez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Sanchez blocks a head kick by Thomas.

Thomas cracks Sanchez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Thomas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sanchez to stand back up!

The cut above Jesus Sanchez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Sanchez throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Thomas's head.
Thomas slaps away a takedown attempt from Sanchez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jax Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Sanchez.
Thomas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sanchez misses with a double jab.
Sanchez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Thomas moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Sanchez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Thomas throws out the jab.

Thomas drops Sanchez with a beautiful combination! Sanchez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!
Thomas throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Sanchez crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jax Thomas!
After winning the bout, Jax Thomas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
