Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dion Watts (ranked 4461 p4p, 4467 weight class) and Harold Tree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Watts takes a swing at Tree's ribcage but misses.

Watts gets the takedown into side control.
Tree is looking to regain half guard here but Watts keeps moving and retains side control.

Watts decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tree to his feet.

Watts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tree, pushing him back against the cage.
Tree scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Watts tries to land knees in the clinch but Tree avoids the damage to the body.

Watts ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Watts no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Watts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Watts pulls Tree in close to his closed guard and prevents Tree from doing any damage or advancing position.

Tree must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tree is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Watts is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Watts has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Watts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tree is keeping the position for now.

Watts prevents Tree from getting back to his feet.

Watts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tree unleashes a big counter combination but Watts bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Watts throws a lazy right hand but Tree sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tree doesn't manage to clinch there - Watts circles away.

Watts darts in and clinches Tree up against the cage.
Tree lands a knee to the head.

Watts pulls Tree into guard.
Watts is pulling down on Tree's head to control his posture.

Tree stands up and waves to Watts to follow him.
Watts tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Watts darts in looking for a takedown but Tree gets double underhooks and turns Watts into the cage.

Watts instigates a clinch.

Watts has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tree regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tree wants to sweep but no luck.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tree is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Watts is controlling him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Watts throws a big elbow that misses.
Watts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Watts pushes Tree up against the cage in a clinch.
Watts tries to score a body lock takedown but Tree shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Tree tries to circle away but Watts has him pinned against the cage.
Watts prevents the takedown attempt.
Tree blocks an elbow strike from Watts.
Tree takes a knee to the side of the body.
Tree tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Watts manages to break the clinch.

Watts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Watts throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tree.

Watts gets a double leg takedown into Tree's guard.
Watts is standing up over Tree. Tree looks to escape but Watts dives into side control.
Tree is breathing heavily.

Watts is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Tree looks calm but he's in trouble here. Watts gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Tree is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Watts lets go of the hold and Tree can pop his arm back in it's socket.
