PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snitch (ranked 2214 p4p, 3720 weight class) and Doko Dokov (ranked 306 p4p, 459 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Snitch might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I Wanna Rock. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 27 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dokov with a poor takedown
and Snitch counters with a nice uppercut.
Dokov blocks a jab.
A little jabbing left from Dokov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Snitch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dokov circles away quickly and effectively.
Dokov tries to close the distance and clinch but Snitch swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Snitch fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Dokov tries to clinch up but Snitch circles away and keeps his distance.
Snitch seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snitch throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dokov has his takedown stuffed
and Snitch counters with a stiff right hand.
Dokov moves in looking to clinch but Snitch pushes him off.
Dokov closes the distance but Snitch moves to the side
and Snitch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Snitch stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Snitch wants it to stay on the feet.
Jon Snitch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doko Dokov.

Snitch throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dokov was covering up waiting for the punch and Snitch finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Snitch shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dokov is trying to defend but Snitch finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dokov makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Snitch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Snitch enables Dokov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Snitch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dokov gets to his feet - Snitch follows without any prompting.
Snitch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dokov as he avoids it easily.

Dokov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Snitch closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dokov's guard.

Dokov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Snitch avoids it really well and circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Snitch will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Snitch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dokov for as long as he can get away with.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Snitch in particular looking to stall.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Snitch showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snitch, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
