Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rio De Janeiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott shoots in and bounces De Janeiro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. De Janeiro looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Scott has picked De Janeiro up and slammed him! De Janeiro can't keep hold of the triangle and Scott manages to pass to side control! De Janeiro is looking for a sweep. Scott wants to stand but De Janeiro is controlling his arm. De Janeiro is trying to get back to half guard. De Janeiro can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De Janeiro is positioning himself to get back to half guard. De Janeiro is trying to control Scott's posture but Scott avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. De Janeiro is trying to get back to half guard. Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Janeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Scott scores with a couple of short elbows. Scott is trying to ground and pound but De Janeiro uses the momentary lack of control by Scott to regain half guard. Scott scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Janeiro slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of De Janeiro is proving hard to escape from. De Janeiro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. De Janeiro is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Scott has his hands clasped together but De Janeiro extends and breaks Scott's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by De Janeiro.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rio De Janeiro! After winning the bout, Rio De Janeiro thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. Michael Scott spoke after the fight, saying 'It was Dwight's fault for my lose he's so annoying'.
