Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luke Davidson (ranked 1388 p4p, 1875 weight class) and Chief Slayer (ranked 171 p4p, 229 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Slayer!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Davidson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Slayer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Davidson will probably get the nod.

Davidson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slayer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davidson has managed to get both his arms back between Slayer's legs - danger averted.
