Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eder Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tom Davis!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Davis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Davis tries for a takedown. No joy.

Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.
Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Silva lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davis's guard.

Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Silva is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Davis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Silva is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Davis will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Silva throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Silva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Davis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A lull in the action here as Silva stalls from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis is trying to buck Silva off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eder Silva dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davis avoids it really well and circles away.
And Davis tries to counter it with a takedown but Silva pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Silva moves out of range of the strikes.

Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Silva feints and as Davis raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Davis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Silva presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Silva tightens his grip and picks Davis up, before dumping him to the ground. Davis manages to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him.

Silva wants to take a breather but Davis is having none of it.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Davis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Silva is pressing down on Davis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Davis is holding on for now.
Silva is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Davis is still in real trouble! Can Silva finish him?
Silva loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Davis scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Silva land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Silva stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eder Silva!
Eder Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
