Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Mate Kalinic (ranked 6362 p4p, 5151 weight class) and Magudo Ahmswe (ranked 617 p4p, 556 weight class). Kalinic comes to the ring accompanied by Don Stoleon. Magudo Ahmswe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mate Kalinic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magudo Ahmswe! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ahmswe is looking to land body kicks. Sloppy strikes from Ahmswe. Those never looked like landing. An attempted straight right counter from Kalinic misses the target. Kalinic closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Kalinic lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ahmswe backwards. A hook to the body from Kalinic.
Kalinic lands with a short shot to the head. Kalinic softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes. Kalinic lands with a left to the head. Kalinic lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ahmswe backwards. A right hook to the body lands for Kalinic.

Kalinic gets through Ahmswe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ahmswe missing with knees to the body.
Kalinic scores with a shoulder strike. A nice glancing elbow lands by Kalinic.
It looks like Magudo Ahmswe has been cut. Ahmswe tries to circle away but Kalinic has him pinned against the ropes. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kalinic. Kalinic breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ahmswe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. An inside leg kick lands from Kalinic. Ahmswe swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kalinic counters with a good low kick that Ahmswe was not able to check.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalinic fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kalinic lands a jab. Ahmswe's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kalinic connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ahmswe scrambles back to his feet. Kalinic catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Ahmswe stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Ahmswe walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!
Ahmswe is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kalinic will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ahmswe steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Kalinic looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Ahmswe walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Kalinic rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Ahmswe has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action. Ahmswe is still on wobbly legs! Can Kalinic finish him? Ahmswe walks into a jab. Kalinic connects with a nice looking jab.
Ahmswe connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Ahmswe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kalinic was well out of range. Poor timing from Ahmswe. Kalinic moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kalinic cracks Ahmswe with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Ahmswe is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Ahmswe is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
That has opened up Magudo Ahmswe's cut even more. Ahmswe walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Ahmswe is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Mate Kalinic! A very excited looking Mate Kalinic rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. Magudo Ahmswe was interviewed post fight and said 'No comment on my today fight...Sorry...'.
