PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Tripp (ranked 804 p4p, 1616 weight class) and Vladimir Tarlac (ranked 116 p4p, 244 weight class). Tarlac comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nobody Knows- The Tony RIch Project kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Tripp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Tarlac!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarlac tries to clinch but Tripp is having none of it.
Tarlac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A combination from Tarlac does no damage.
Tarlac closes the distance but Tripp moves to the side
and Tripp counters with a stiff right hand.
Tarlac falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tripp counters with a three punch combo that has Tarlac backing up. Tarlac nods at Tripp to acknowledge the strikes.
Tarlac misses with a double jab
and Tripp counters with a good low kick that Tarlac was not able to check.
Tarlac uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tripp.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tarlac works over Tripp's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like CJ Tripp has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tripp was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Tarlac drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tarlac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tripp moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Tripp looks to land a body kick but Tarlac moved away.
Tarlac is looking for the big counter here.
Tarlac goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tarlac throws a series of punches but Tripp avoids them all with ease.
Nice defenses there by Tripp.
Tarlac tries to clinch up but Tripp circles away and keeps his distance.
Tripp throws a counter high kick but Tarlac was just alert enough to avoid it.
Tarlac misses with a double jab
and Tarlac takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Tarlac falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tripp counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Tripp explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Tripp goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tarlac throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tripp is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

A jab from Tripp finds it's way through Tarlac's defenses.
Tarlac darts in trying to clinch
and Tripp counters with a nice body shot.

Tarlac tries to clinch but Tripp moves out of range.
Tarlac swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tripp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tripp chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Tarlac loads up on a big right hand but Tripp slips the punch.
Tripp throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tarlac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tripp jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Vladimir Tarlac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tripp shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tarlac eats them both and turns towards Tripp to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Tarlac is rocked!
Tarlac closes the distance and lands a one-two.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tarlac looks to land a combination but Tripp avoids it well.

Tarlac has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tripp.
Tripp misses the shot to the body.
Tripp throws a looping overhand right but Tarlac ducks down to avoid it.
Tarlac looks to land a combination but Tripp avoids it well.
Tarlac has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tripp finds it's way round the side to connect with Tarlac's head.
Tripp is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

and Tripp counters with a body kick.
Tripp lands with a nice body kick.
Crunch! Tripp slams his shin into Tarlac's torso.
Tarlac misses with a body shot
enabling Tripp to counter with a crisp jab.
Tripp scores with a kick to the midsection.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tarlac walks forward, straight into a front kick from Tripp.
Tripp lands with a nice body punch.

Tripp lands a big right hand that sends Tarlac crashing to the mat! Tripp stays standing though and waves Tarlac back to his feet!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

CJ Tripp dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Tripp tries to bum rush Tarlac with a series of wild strikes but Tarlac uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Tarlac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tripp connects with a body shot.
Tarlac blocks a head kick by Tripp.
Tripp looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tripp throws a shot from downtown. Tarlac moves away and avoids it.
Tarlac unleashes a big counter combination but Tripp bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Tarlac throws a series of punches but Tripp moves out of range.
Tripp is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tarlac can do to turn this around?

A counter left hand to the body from Tripp misses its target.
That kick from Tripp tenderised Tarlac's leg. Tarlac is trying to keep his angry face on.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Tarlac might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Tripp has got the better of the exchanges.

Tarlac is breathing heavily.
A left and a right from Tarlac both land. Nice combination.
Tripp uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tarlac.
Tarlac tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tripp swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tripp feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tarlac sprawling to the canvas! Tarlac rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Tripp finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tarlac tries to clinch but Tripp is having none of it.
Tripp drops Tarlac with a straight right hand, right on the button! Tripp follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). CJ Tripp!
CJ Tripp seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Vladimir Tarlac was interviewed post fight and said 'until next time '.
