Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philipp Tyurin (ranked 2015 p4p, 2274 weight class) and Zeno Bathory (ranked 91 p4p, 100 weight class). Bathory has chosen Metallica: Battery as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Bathory misses.

Bathory feints and as Tyurin raises his hands in defense, Bathory changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bathory passes into half guard.
Tyurin wants to get back to his feet.
Tyurin tries to roll over but Bathory keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tyurin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Bathory working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bathory working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bathory accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tyurin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bathory throws an elbow that misses. Tyurin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bathory's guard. Nice move by Tyurin!

Bathory makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Bathory drives through with a takedown into Tyurin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Bathory is looking to pass into half guard but Tyurin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Tyurin is in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tyurin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at EFC Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Bathory will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bathory is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Tyurin has latched onto it... Big trouble! Tyurin pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Bathory is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Tyurin!
