Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeShawn Jones (ranked 4403 p4p, 4382 weight class) and Kuzon Fire (ranked 530 p4p, 535 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, DeShawn Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuzon Fire! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fire swivels and escapes. Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fire tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fire to the ground. Fire escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones tries to bum rush Fire with a series of wild strikes but Fire uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fire fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Fire keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DeShawn Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Jones clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire tries a body shot but Jones blocks it.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jones jumps guard and drags Fire to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Fire slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Fire's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Fire wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Fire wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Fire slips nicely into half guard. Fire tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Fire not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Fire missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jones moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fire trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones tries to strike from the bottom.

Fire is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fire wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it. Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Fire looks winded! Jones passes Fire's left leg - he's now in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Still in half guard, Jones seems content to control. Fire is looking to escape. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
DeShawn Jones dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Jones throws a front kick that sends Fire stumbling back into the cage. Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fire is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Fire circles away and we're back to standing. Despite the aggression on Fire's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Jones clinches up with Fire and pushes him back against the cage. Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fire uses from the top position. Jones kicks Fire off and gets to his feet. Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fire can do to turn this around? Fire takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Fire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fire wants it to stay on the feet. Jones clinches. Fire is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones pulls Fire into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard. Fire postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Fire stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fire is breathing heavily. Fire got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fire has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fire accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fire trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fire must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jones is adopting a defensive guard. Jones tries to strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Fire tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jones pulls Fire in to control the position. Jones lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Jones controlling from the top position. Jones pushing down on Fire's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones works his way into side control. Jones stands up. Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fire, pushing him back against the cage. Jones breaks from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones instigates a clinch. Jones lands a body punch in the clinch. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. Fire is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. DeShawn Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kuzon Fire. Jones slowing the pace effectively. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fire has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Fire, which made it look bad. Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fire but Fire pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fire tries to clinch and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Fire will be more careful next time no doubt. Fire looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jones seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kuzon Fire seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fire sprawls well. Fire wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. As Jones backs off Fire throws a huge counter combo but Jones manages to avoid it all. Jones checks a low kick from Fire. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Fire circles away.

Fire shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Fire's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Fire gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones is trying to drag Fire to the mat but Fire just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Kuzon Fire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! DeShawn Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Fire lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
And that's the end of the fight! Kuzon Fire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
