PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quintus Dias (ranked 2586 p4p, 24348 weight class) and Young Prodigy (ranked 325 p4p, 665 weight class). Dias comes into the arena with Black Parade blaring out of the sound system. Young Prodigy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quintus Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Young Prodigy !
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dias is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Prodigy .
Prodigy unleashes a big counter combination but Dias bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Prodigy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dias circles away.
Dias throws out a loose jab but Prodigy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dias tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dias throws a shot to the body.
Prodigy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dias slips a jab from Prodigy .
Prodigy misses the shot to the body.
Dias throws a right and a left that both miss.
Prodigy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dias scores with a jab to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Prodigy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Quintus Dias seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Prodigy jumps guard but Dias turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Quintus Dias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Young Prodigy .
Prodigy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dias smiles and moves away.

and Prodigy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dias fails to land with a series of punches.
Prodigy looks like he wants to counter punch here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prodigy jumps guard and drags Dias to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dias is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Prodigy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Dias lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dias lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Prodigy backwards.

Dias scores with a nice hook to the head.
Prodigy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Dias throws a punch but it's blocked by Prodigy .
Dias lands a nice uppercut.
Dias lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Prodigy lands a left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Prodigy is trying to break the clinch but Dias is controlling him.
Dias lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Prodigy backwards.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Quintus Dias dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dias swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Prodigy misses with a hook. Dias ducked under it nicely.
Dias was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Dias cracks Prodigy with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Prodigy looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Dias finish him?

Dias connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Prodigy to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Dias!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Quintus Dias!
Quintus Dias decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
