And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 3 losses; Guido Gloom!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gloom moves into range and clinches up with Bystrom.
Gloom tries to pull guard but Bystrom holds him up against the ropes and eventually Gloom drops back down to his feet.

Bystrom is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gloom is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Bystrom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gloom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gloom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bystrom has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gloom has managed to get both his arms back between Bystrom's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing good reports from Bystrom's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bystrom goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gloom is on top in guard.

Bystrom is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gloom defends well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
