This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Yoshinobu Tokugawa! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Tokugawa gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tokugawa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shuwen walks away with a smile on his face. Tokugawa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Shuwen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tokugawa fights it off and pushes away nicely.

 That's six minutes gone in the round. Tokugawa is refusing to be controlled, as Shuwen sits in half guard. Shuwen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tokugawa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Shuwen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tokugawa is just riding it out for now. Shuwen eventually gives up the hold. Shuwen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tokugawa keeps working.

 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Shuwen is looking to work his way around to Tokugawa's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Tokugawa has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Tokugawa is trying to escape the mount.
