PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Osman Morles (ranked 4323 p4p, 4369 weight class) and Abretof Casnowi (ranked 532 p4p, 537 weight class). Morles comes to the cage accompanied by Dynamite. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Osman Morles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abretof Casnowi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Casnowi.
Morles appears to be looking for a big counter.
Casnowi fails to land the takedown.
Morles is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Casnowi.
Morles scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Casnowi throws a head kick but Morles moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Casnowi shoots in and drives through. Morles sprawls well.
Osman Morles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abretof Casnowi.

Abretof Casnowi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Casnowi moves into the clinch successfully.

Let's hope that Casnowi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Casnowi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Morles but Morles pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Morles is looking for a counter combo.
Morles ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Casnowi closes the distance and clinches.

Casnowi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Casnowi.
Casnowi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morles takes a kick to the side of the head.

Morles throws a series of strikes that have Casnowi backpedaling.

Casnowi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Casnowi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Casnowi is staying tight to Morles's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ground and pound from Casnowi seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Casnowi slows the pace down.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Morles displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Casnowi.
Casnowi just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMorles.

Casnowi closes the distance and clinches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Casnowi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Casnowi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Morles throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Casnowi is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Casnowi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Morles is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Casnowi wants to work for an arm triangle but Morles is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Morles wants to improve his position but Casnowi is controlling well.
Casnowi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Casnowi prevents Morles from improving his position.
Morles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Casnowi on the ground.

Casnowi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Morles sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Casnowi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Casnowi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Morles!
Morles takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Casnowi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Casnowi landing punches.
Casnowi controlling the position easily from mount.
Casnowi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Morles can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Casnowi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Casnowi get's back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Casnowi closes the distance and clinches.

Morles breaks from the clinch.

Casnowi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Morles sprawls well initially but Casnowi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Abretof Casnowi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Casnowi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Casnowi lands in his opponent's guard.

Casnowi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Morles is trying to control Casnowi's posture but Casnowi avoids it.
Casnowi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Casnowi is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The referee warns Morles that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Morles has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Osman Morles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Abretof Casnowi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Casnowi controls the action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Abretof Casnowi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Casnowi winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
