Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Barkas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barkas comes to the cage accompanied by Civil war. Liddell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chuck Liddell. Hannibal Barkas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hannibal Barkas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barkas tries for a takedown but Liddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Barkas takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Hannibal Barkas has been cut. Liddell jabbing away but nothing is landing. Barkas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Liddell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Barkas. Barkas wants to pass to mount but Liddell is defending the position. Liddell is looking to escape. Barkas sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Liddell defending well though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barkas missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Liddell is trying to stand back up but Barkas is controlling him
Liddell has one foot on Barkas's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Liddell stuffs the takedown attempt from Barkas. Barkas gets slowly back to his feet. Liddell looks to land a right hand but Barkas moved out of range. No joy there for Liddell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A left lands for Liddell.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barkas moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Liddell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Liddell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barkas manages to avoid it. A big left from Liddell misses. Barkas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barkas working the ground and pound from side control. The ground and pound from Barkas seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Liddell managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Barkas.
Barkas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Barkas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barkas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell sneaks out the side door and pushes Barkas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The fighters circling - Liddell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Barkas shoots in and bounces Liddell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Barkas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Liddell keeping full guard, as Barkas tries to pass. Barkas pushing down on Liddell's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Liddell wants to get back to his feet. Barkas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Barkas looking to ground and pound but Liddell is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barkas won't let Liddell get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liddell can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Barkas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Barkas lands a big shot there that rocks Liddell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Liddell tries to buck Barkas off but he can't manage it. Liddell looks gassed! Barkas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Barkas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Liddell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Barkas punching from mount but Liddell doing a good job of avoiding damage. Barkas wants to control the pace but Liddell is squirming around nicely. Barkas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Barkas in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Barkas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Liddell has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Liddell! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Liddell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barkas is proving hard to escape from. Liddell is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barkas working for a triangle but Liddell defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hannibal Barkas dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hannibal Barkas's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Liddell throws a jab when Barkas was well out of range. Barkas shoots in for a double leg but Liddell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Barkas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Barkas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Barkas defending well as Liddell loads up on a big left hand. Barkas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Barkas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barkas lands with a short head shot on the inside. Barkas is working for takedown but Liddell is calmly controlling the position for now. Liddell stops a takedown attempt from Barkas.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hannibal Barkas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liddell takes a shot to the head. Barkas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Liddell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barkas wants a takedown but no success here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A nice left hand lands by Barkas.
Liddell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Barkas doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Barkas misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Liddell.
Barkas prevents Liddell from breaking the clinch. Barkas pushes off an throws an elbow but Liddell leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Barkas connects with a nasty looking knee right to Liddell's face.

Liddell wants to get back to striking at distance but Barkas won't allow it.

Liddell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Barkas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Liddell to the mat. Liddell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Barkas slips nicely into half guard. Barkas is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Liddell has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell kicks off Barkas and gets to his feet. Liddell throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Liddell.
Barkas looks for a takedown but Liddell sprawls well. Liddell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A combination from Liddell does no damage. The fighters circling - Liddell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Liddell lands a nice hook to Barkas's body. Barkas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Barkas tries to clinch up but Liddell circles away and keeps his distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Liddell throws a big shot that misses. A big left from Liddell misses. A punch combination from Liddell misses. Barkas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A jab from Liddell misses. Barkas slips under a jab. Barkas slips a jab from Liddell. Barkas has Liddell up against the cage in a clinch.
Barkas has Liddell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Liddell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Barkas lands a shot to the body. Barkas lands a knee to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barkas with a knee to the head.
Liddell is trying to break free. Liddell is looking to break free of the clinch but Barkas has double underhooks. Barkas pulls guard. Liddell wanted to stand there but Barkas had control of the position. Liddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Liddell is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Barkas has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Liddell is looking to defend but Barkas has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Liddell! Barkas pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Liddell taps out and this one is all over!
