Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Fafa (ranked 1910 p4p, 3371 weight class) and Colton Ortiz (ranked 204 p4p, 308 weight class). The key to victory for Jeff Fafa has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Fafa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colton Ortiz! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fafa misses with a few strikes there.
Fafa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ortiz's sensitive parts. Ortiz closes the distance and clinches up with Fafa, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes Fafa against the cage but Fafa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ortiz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ortiz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Fafa scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ortiz in his tracks. Fafa slaps away a takedown attempt from Ortiz, before circling back to the center of the mat. It looked like Fafa wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Fafa thuds his right hand into Ortiz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ortiz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fafa pushes Ortiz off but Ortiz dives into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fafa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Ortiz is controlling him well. Ortiz gets to mount! Fafa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Fafa is just holding on here. Ortiz manages to take his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fafa prevents Ortiz from getting a body triangle. Ortiz is not going to allow Fafa to sit and survive in this position. Despite being in a bad position, Fafa is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Fafa tries to break free.
Fafa is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ortiz looking for the RNC. Ortiz is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Fafa has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Ortiz slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Ortiz is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fafa is defending well though. Ortiz let's go of the attempt for now. Fafa is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ortiz gets his way!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fafa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. A lull in the action here.
Fafa is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ortiz controlling the position well here. Fafa rolled but Ortiz kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fafa fending off the submission attempt from Ortiz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ortiz keeps control of the position as Fafa tries to break free.
Ortiz is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Fafa is tapping out! This one is all over!
