PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Tatum (ranked 3094 p4p, 23228 weight class) and Alen Zalac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jayson Tatum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alen Zalac!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatum fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Zalac looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Zalac misses with a right hand

and Tatum counters with a head kick that drops Zalac - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
Tatum content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Zalac is trying to stand.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tatum in particular looking to stall.
Tatum has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tatum is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Tatum is nestled in close to Zalac, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Tatum uses his free foot to push down on Zalac's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zalac.

Zalac is rocked!

Tatum looking to secure an arm triangle but Zalac defends it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tatum tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Zalac is still in real trouble! Can Tatum finish him?
Tatum connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Zalac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tatum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tatum lands a heavy elbow.
Tatum postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Zalac badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Tatum around the waist but Tatum pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Tatum is the winner by TKO! Tatum jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jayson Tatum!
During a confident post fight interview, Jayson Tatum thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
