Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Norson (ranked 4449 p4p, 2976 weight class) and Sal Seville (ranked 527 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Norson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sal Seville! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Seville stuffs the takedown attempt from Norson. Norson gets slowly back to his feet. Seville lands a body shot.
Norson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Seville to score an easy takedown into full guard. Norson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Seville is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Norson gets underhooks to prevent Seville's takedown attempt.

Seville fails with a takedown attempt. As Seville looks to move away, Norson throws a big counter combo but Seville just gets out of the way. Seville tries to clinch up but Norson circles away and keeps his distance.

Seville dives in for a single leg takedown but Norson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Seville doesn't succeed with the takedown and Norson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Seville forces Norson back against the cage and clinches. Seville jumps into guard, dragging Norson to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Norson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Norson throws a push kick but Seville slaps the foot to one side. Norson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Seville shoots in and bounces Norson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Norson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Seville working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Norson is on top in guard.
Norson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Seville wants to sweep but no luck. Norson trying to control the position from guard on top but Seville is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Seville is looking to stand up but Norson isn't so interested in that idea. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sal Seville will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Norson tries to keep at a distance but Seville has taken the fight into the clinch. Seville lands an elbow inside that Norson shrugs off. Norson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Seville throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Norsons head. Seville is trying to pull guard but Norson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Seville is looking for a takedown. Seville breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norson shoots in for a takedown but Seville shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Seville closes the distance and clinches. Norson effectively controlling the action here. Norson goes for a takedown attempt but Seville pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Norson shoots in looking for a takedown. Seville tries to sprawl out of it but Norson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Seville manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Norson throws a sloppy body shot
and Seville counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Seville lands an elbow that stopped Norson in his tracks for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Norson stalling.

Seville darts in looking for a takedown but Norson gets double underhooks and turns Seville into the cage. Seville slaps away a takedown attempt from Norson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Seville gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Seville escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Seville throws a head kick but Norson moves out of range.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Norson enables Seville to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Norson pulls Seville in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Seville gets to his feet - Norson follows without any prompting. Seville has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Norson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Seville tries to avoid it but Norson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Seville to the ground. Seville escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Seville raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Norson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Seville swivels and escapes. Seville closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Norson did well to prevent Seville getting side control. Sal Seville has got the better of the ground game so far. Norson trying to hold on to Seville's head to control him but Seville postures up.

Sal Seville showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round! Seville lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Norson swivels though and keeps the full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Norson wants to stand and escape but Seville is having none of it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Norson lands a really nice looking cross but Seville seems unphased.
Jake Norson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sal Seville is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Norson gets caught flat footed, as Seville shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Sal Seville comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Seville has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
