Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Larry Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Constantin Niculescu!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day checks a low kick from Niculescu.
Day misses with a hook.
Day scores with a nice strike.
Niculescu shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Niculescu showed some decent athleticism there.
Day is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Niculescu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Niculescu's back!

Day knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Niculescu on the ground.
Day is persistently looking for the submission but Niculescu is defending it well.
Day goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Niculescu escapes and is now in half guard on top.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Niculescu working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Niculescu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Niculescu lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Niculescu winds up and cracks Day with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Niculescu connects with a nice short shot to Day's temple.
Day is rocked!
It looks like Larry Day has been cut.
Niculescu scores with a big shot! Day's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Day! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Constantin Niculescu!
Constantin Niculescu tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
