The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Turner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Zeus Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A bone on bone clash there as Shaw blocks the leg kick.

Shaw looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Turner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Turner enables Shaw to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Turner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Turner lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shaw has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shaw and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

It looked like Shaw was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
