Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Williams (ranked 3648 p4p, 4666 weight class) and Vitor Donato (ranked 397 p4p, 480 weight class). Vitor Donato will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitor Donato!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Donato drives through and clinches with Williams against the cage.
Donato has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.
Donato looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Williams gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Donato can do anything to dispel that myth.

Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Donato has wrist control.

We've been hearing that Williams has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Donato utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Donato is looking to stand up but Williams isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Donato wants to stand and escape but Williams is having none of it.

Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Donato's head.

Donato really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams throws a big right hand that misses.
Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Donato has wrist control.
Williams postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Williams postures up in Donato's guard and throws a big left but Donato blocks it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Williams's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Williams stands and throws Donato's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Donato looks winded!
Donato takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williams cracks Donato with a big right hand but Donato just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Williams tries for a kimura but Donato is defending well.
Donato avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Williams.
Williams works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Donato is rocked!

Donato is still in real trouble! Can Williams finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Donato parries the strikes from Williams easily there. Williams is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Donato to escape.
Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Donato takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Donato takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Williams stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Vitor Donato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Williams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Williams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Donato is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Williams in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Donato looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Williams turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Williams!
