The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lasner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
cookins is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lasner pulls him back up using the underhooks.
cookins is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
cookins breaks from the clinch.
Lasner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but cookins paws at him with a jab and circles away.
cookins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lasner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts cookins as he jumps to the side.
Lasner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. cookins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
cookins is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lasner has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Foley cookins will probably get the nod.
