PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Crass Baracuta (ranked 6725 p4p, 4185 weight class) and Deer Hunter (ranked 589 p4p, 441 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter scores with a spinning back kick!
Hunter has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hunter lands a front kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Baracuta.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Baracuta.
Hunter takes one on the button.
Baracuta looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Hunter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Baracuta misses with a hook from the clinch.

Hunter swings wildly with an uppercut but Baracuta uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hunter has a couple of punches blocked by Baracuta.
A short body shot lands from Hunter as the two fighters clinch.
Hunter prevents Baracuta from breaking the clinch.
Baracuta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Hunter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Baracuta lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hunter or not.

Baracuta lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Baracuta blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Baracuta is trying to force a seperation but Hunter has the dominant position.

Hunter keeps control of Baracuta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Baracuta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hunter thows a left - swing and a miss!
Baracuta looks for the body kick but Hunter saw that one coming.
Hunter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Deer Hunter dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Baracuta scores with a punch to the head.
Baracuta throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily.
Hunter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hunter scores with a leg kick.
Baracuta with a jab.
Hunter sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Baracuta takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Baracuta fails to land with a series of punches.
Hunter throws a low kick but it's checked well by Baracuta.
Hunter lands an overhand right.
Hunter throws out a leg kick but Baracuta moves out of range and Hunter only half commits.
Baracuta tries to land a front kick but Hunter steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hunter looks to land a body kick but Baracuta moved away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hunter.
Baracuta moves out of range as Hunter strikes.
Hunter closes the distance but Baracuta moves to the side
and Baracuta counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hunter lands a nice looking kick to the body. Baracuta takes a step back to recover.
Baracuta stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hunter.
Hunter misses the body punch
and Baracuta connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Baracuta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hunter throws out the jab.

Baracuta closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Hunter crashing to the mat! Hunter uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

Hunter is rocked!
Hunter buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hunter is still on wobbly legs! Can Baracuta finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hunter misses with a body kick.
Baracuta connects with a nice looking jab.
Hunter misses with a leg kick
and Baracuta counters with a huge right that knocks Hunter out cold! Baracuta is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
