Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Rocket (ranked 4460 p4p, 4407 weight class) and Tony Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 451 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Rocket! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Powers! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rocket.
Rocket looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Powers fails with a takedown attempt. Rocket throws a front kick aimed at Powers's knee but Powers avoids it well. Rocket closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rocket in side control, just content to control the action for now. Rocket has control of an arm but Powers manages to advance to Rocket's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocket turns into Powers and is now in his guard.
Rocket with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Rocket has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rocket content to stall in guard here. Powers has his foot on Rocket's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rocket works his way back into a safe position though. Rocket lands a couple of decent looking shots. Powers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rocket tries to stand but Powers is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocket is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rocket pushing down on Powers's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Powers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rocket. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Powers wants to get back to full guard. Powers is still trying to improve position. Rocket tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powers trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocket is nestled in close to Powers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rocket is taking a breather. Powers says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Rocket is working for a kimura but Powers is defending it quite comfortably.
Rocket stands up and beckons Powers to join him on the feet. Rocket closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Powers to the mat! Powers manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocket engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Powers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rocket advances position into side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Powers misses with a strike from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kyle Rocket dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rocket looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rocket has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rocket working for a submission but Powers is keeping him at bay. Powers tries to improve his position but instead Rocket has taken his back! I would not like to be Powers right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocket throwing damaging strikes from the back! Powers could be in trouble here!
It looks like Tony Powers has been cut. Rocket working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Powers is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Rocket has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Powers taps out!
